A businessman from Belur, Saurav Tibrewal, lost Rs 2.3 crore to cyber fraudsters who convinced him to invest in the stock market through a stock trading app. When he tried to withdraw money from his Demat account, he was denied permission until he paid a 30% commission to the scammers. Tibrewal lodged a complaint, and with the help of Howrah City Police, Rs 1.2 crore was recovered and returned to him. The police traced the account and froze it. The process is ongoing to recover the remaining amount.
