Kolkata: 2028-29 deadline for Purple Line full services

Kolkata's 14km Purple Line metro project is set to be completed by late 2028 or early 2029. Tunnel boring machines will arrive in December and begin operation in March 2025. Construction is underway, including the Esplanade station, which required relocating a market and bus stand.
